Steven "Steve" McCurdy

Steven “Steve” McCurdy, 68, of Diamondhead, MS, sadly passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Steve grew up on Long Island, NY, and he went on to graduate from the University of Richmond, where he received a scholarship to play basketball alongside his brother, Bob. He looked forward to attending the annual alumni basketball games in Richmond, where he still had many close friends.

Steve worked for many years in the radio advertising business in various markets across the country. He ultimately decided to retire in Diamondhead to be closer to his longtime friends in and around New Orleans.

Like his father, Steve enjoyed swimming to keep himself in shape. He was an avid reader and loved his cats. Steve was a gentle giant and a kind soul who lived life on his terms.  He genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary; his brother, Bob; and his sister, Maureen.

He is survived by his brother, Jay (Lorraine); sister-in-law, Sydney; five nieces, Meagan, Ashley (Jerry), Caroline, Gabrielle and Christina; three nephews, Michael, Sean (Toni) and Kevin; and 10 great nieces and nephews, Cameran, Taylor, Tristan, Olivia, Scarlett, Andrew, Dylan, Sienna, Emily and Quinn. 

Following Steven's wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
