Russell Kimbel Mills

Russell "Buff" Mills, 48, of Diamondhead, MS passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Buff was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, born on March 12, 1976. He was known for his passions: music, nature, animals, his love for his nephew, Rivers and his enduring and loving bond with his brother, Trae. Buff's gentle spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jimmy" Bryant Mills, Jr.; brother, Blake Mills; paternal grandparents, James Mills, Sr. and Virgie Mills; and maternal grandparents, James Vardaman and La’faree Rhodes.

He leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Sheila Rhodes; children, Dakota Schalk Mills and Haylee Mills Haik; sisters, Stacy Mauffray, Kristie Mauffray, and Jamie Lynn Hicks; and brother, James Bryant Mills III (Trae).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rotten Bayou Cemetery in Diamondhead, MS. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Buff's life.
