Robert Leo Hincks, 78, of Waveland, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Robert was born on August 31, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to William Hincks and Geraldine O'Brien. He grew up in Pass Christian, MS. During his younger years he loved playing many different sports, like basketball, softball, or football, later playing football for MGCCC Perkinston and Southeastern Louisiana University. Robert started his career as a Lineman with Mississippi Power before becoming an Elevator Constructor, where he spent the rest of his career. In 1969, he married Margaret Johnson. They moved to Waveland, MS in 1976, where they raised their three children, Michael, Scott, and Julie. Robert also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Michael's children, Gabriel and Mary Jane, Scott's children, Stephanie, Valerie, and Helena, and Julie's children, Rain, Skye, and Daniel; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Spratley. Robert was known for his love of playing several sports, playing golf, fishing, hunting, and playing cards with his friends and family. He loved each of his children and grandchildren and the time he had with them. Robert was more than a father/grandfather, he was our rock. He was a great man that will be dearly missed by many.
A Celebration of Life to honor Robert's life will take place on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at St. Rose Holy Spirit Center: 301 S Necaise Ave. Bay St. Louis, MS from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
