Patsy Sue Cole Wilson, 95, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2024, with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren by her side.

Patsy was born on Mother’s Day, May 13, 1928, in Redwood, Mississippi at the Milldale family home. The Cole family moved from Redwood to Biloxi in 1934 and resided on the Mississippi Gulf Coast from that point on.

Patsy was an honor graduate of Biloxi High School, Perkinston College Art School and Tamblyn School of Penmanship.

Patsy met her future husband, US Army Pilot Harry Edwin Wilson while he was stationed in Biloxi during WWII. They married in 1948 and resided principally in Pearlington, MS. Their marriage produced two children, Michael Edwin Wilson, Sr. and Patricia Elizabeth Wilson.

Patsy, a talented artist, calligrapher, writer, and poet won numerous local, state, and national awards and recognition for her works; notably her 1984 national award for her portrait painting of 110 years old Hester Matthews and her state award for her poem “Trees of Milldale.

Patsy was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, the Hancock County Historical Society, the Hancock County Arts Society, the New Orleans Calligraphy Association, the Mississippi Poetry, and volunteer reporter for the Sea Coast newspaper writing the “Pearlington Pearls”.
 Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Harry Edwin Wilson; parents, Frederick Biedenharn Cole, Sr and Genevieve O’Connor Cole; siblings, Frederick B. Cole, Jr., Issac Scott Cole, Barbara Cole; daughter, Patricia Elizabeth Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Wilson.

Patsy is survived by her son, Michael Edwin Wilson, Sr; daughter-in-law Carolyn A. Wilson; Grandchildren, Belinda Michelle White (Jeff), Kimberly Becker (Brian), Michael Edwin Wilson, Jr, (JoLane), Allison McClure (Michael), Brittany Vicknair (Justin); great-grandchildren, Chris Tebo (Sarah), Cameron Tebo (Liz), Gavin Foregger, Garrison Foregger, Maggie Collins, Mallorie Collins, Mollie Collins, Logan Moyer, Tucker Moyer, John Becker, Sam Becker, Genevieve Wilson, and Michael Wilson III; great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Tebo and Lilly Tebo.

Patsy lived a full and unselfish life and will be truly missed by family, friends, and community.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Pearlington Methodist Church in Pearlington, MS with a Funeral Service at noon. Interment will be at Pearlington Cemetery.
