Merlin Julian “Shorty” Necaise, 86, of Kiln, MS passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in Kiln, MS.
Shorty was a lifetime resident of Kiln, MS. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard, Waveland Ward 2 Constable for eight years, member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 60 in Metairie, LA, and was a Shriner and Mason. He loved to bird hunt, fish, and ride around in his old pickup truck. Shorty was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent & Bertha Lizana Necaise; three brothers, Joseph Necaise, Veron Necaise, and Jesse Necaise, Sr.; sister, Dolores Baumann; and great-granddaughter, Mariah Necaise.
He is survived by his life partner, Ener Hemby of Kiln, MS; son, Merlin Julian “Shorty” Necaise, Jr. of Waveland, MS; Rick & Lory Hemby of Hoover, AL; Darlene & Mike Turner of Bossier City, LA; three brothers, Harold Necaise (Betty) of the Fenton community, Kiln, MS; Laurent Necaise, Jr. (Linda) of Gautier, MS; Gerald Necaise (Sara) of the Fenton-Dedeaux community, Kiln, MS; grandchildren, Nick Necaise (Chantal) of Gulfport, MS; Drew Turner (Sarah) of McKinney, TX; Tyler Hemby (Mary) of Clemson, SC and eight great-grandchildren, Lexie, Noah, Ela, Layla, Alex, Jamie, Kinsey, and Dean.
Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pass Christian, MS from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Bayou CoCo Cemetery in Kiln, MS.
