Lucille Anne Mazzola Mortimer

Lucille Anne Mazzola Mortimer, 77, of Diamondhead, MS passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 in Diamondhead, MS.

Lucille found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when surrounded by her family. In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed the art of cooking, creating delicious meals that brought her loved ones together. Her passion for food was surpassed only by the love she had for her family and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Mortimer; son, Marc Jason Mortimer; parents, Nunzio and Anne Mazzola, and two brothers, Joseph Mazzola and Ron Mazzola.

She is survived by her three children, Joseph Mortimer (Debbie), Christine Ladner (John), and Michele Pope (Shane);eight grandchildren, Joseph Mortimer, Jr. (Maria), Daniel Mortimer (Anna), Jared Mortimer (Jessica), Jordan Crenshaw (Chris), Chase Pope, John Ladner, Jr., Ryan Ladner, and Abby Ladner; eight great-grandchildren, Charlotte Mortimer, Lois Mortimer, Jack Mortimer, Stella Mortimer, Jason Mortimer, Saylor Crenshaw, Lynley Crenshaw and Oliver Crenshaw; and two sisters, Grace Patella and Karen Rimmer. 

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the National Kidney Foundation: 3304 N State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.

The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Woodland Village Nursing Center, Fresenius Dialysis Clinic in Gulfport, Vital Caring Hospice, and her special friend and helper, Wendy Simolke. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St Louis from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS.
