Joyful, gracious, caring, and gentle are all words used to describe Linda Auderer Kidd, who passed away peacefully on July 16th, 2024 at the age of 84. Linda was born on January 27th, 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana to John F. Auderer Jr. and Margie Doclar Auderer. She moved to Waveland, Mississippi at a young age, where she graduated from Saint Joseph Academy in 1958. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas William Kidd Sr., in 1959. They were married for 61 years before his passing in late 2020.
Linda had a very fulfilling life with many accomplishments to note. She was a member of the Krewe of Nereids, and was their Queen Doris X as well as an officer of Nereids. She loved everything Mardi Gras. She was also a charter member of the Bay-Waveland Jr. Auxiliary, as well as a member of the “Lucky 7.” Linda became a very recognizable woman in the Bay/Waveland area and would run into people who knew her every time she stepped foot out the door. She loved to entertain and growing up her children recalled small get-togethers turning into large parties in a matter of minutes. Part of this is accredited to her cooking skills that she used to feed the masses. If you knew Linda, you knew her cooking was like none other. Her cooking even went on to inspire many of her close friends and family.
Of all of her accomplishments, her family was what she saw as her greatest. She constantly expressed her pride in all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her favorite time spent was with her family, and she always made that known. She loved each of her family members so deeply and rarely missed an event. At soccer games, baseball games, and dance recitals, her smiling face was always seen in the stands.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas William Kidd Sr., her brother, John F. Auderer III, and her daughter-in-law, Ruthie Kidd.
She is survived by her sons Tommy Kidd, Jr. of Bay St. Louis, MS, Steve Kidd (Cathy) of Rockledge, FL, and her daughter, Kelyn Kidd Breland (Mark) of Bay St. Louis, MS. “Mimi” loved and favored each of her four grandchildren, Bryce Breland (Amanda), Brooks Breland (Jordan), Brit Breland (Adriana), and Bailey Kidd and adored her five great-grandchildren, McKaylin Breland, Payton Breland, Dani Breland, Beckham Breland, and Brady Breland.
Linda cherished her Catholic faith and became a very familiar face at St. Clare’s Catholic Church at an early age. Not only that, but she also had a deep love of the water. She loved to spend time in the sand and swim in the pool. Walking into her house, images of the beach and mermaids were seen in every room. She also spent a lot of time with her ABC girls, traveling and making memories of all kinds with her closest girlfriends and sisters-in-law. Linda valued everyone around her, and once you knew her, she was an unforgettable presence. She left such a big mark on the lives of so many. Her joy and love are truly irreplaceable.
Special thanks to Dunbar Village for taking care of her towards the end of her life, and a very special thanks to her caregivers Yolanda Christophe, Romona Fine (Gentiva Hospice), and Vital caring Group who gave her comfort and care in the final days of her life.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Clare’s Catholic Church at 11 AM on Saturday, August 3rd, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Linda’s memory to St. Clare’s Catholic Church, 236 S. Beach Blvd., Waveland, MS 39576.
