James Ray Singletary,73, known to everyone as Jimmy, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, in Gulfport, MS.

Jimmy was born December 11, 1951, in Lucedale, Mississippi and was a longtime resident of Hancock County. 
He worked most of his life as a heavy machine operator and mechanic.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Garcia; father, Oscar Havard; sister, Carol Ann Moss; wife, Debbie Singletary; and oldest son, Jimmy Hunnicutt.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Jeremiah Singletary (Greta); daughter, Candi Arceneaux (Freddie); two grandsons, Grayson Singletary and Colby McLain; sister, Patricia Howard; and nephews, Brian Ladner, Kenneth Ivy, Shannon Havard, and Derick Havard.

Jimmy enjoyed spending his time outdoors and fishing. Although he was known as a man who cherished his solitude and appreciated the peaceful moments in life, he formed many deep and lasting friendships. Those who knew him will forever remember him well.

A visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. There will be no graveside service or gathering afterwards.
