Herbert "Toby" Arnold Mevers

Herbert "Toby" Arnold Mevers, 81, of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Toby was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Herbert Arnold Mevers, Sr. and Edna Bennett Mevers. He served in the U.S. Army. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His interests included walking on the beach, sailing, gardening, and reading. He was a lifelong learner, especially when it came to all things science. His latest learning interest was astronomy. He will be missed by many.

Toby was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edna Mevers, and sister, Peaches Abbott.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Mevers Conger (Tom); son, Scott Mevers (Joanna); three grandchildren, Amelia Mevers, Thomas "Toby" Conger, and Silas "Gray" Mevers; brother, Michael "Mike" Mevers (Karen); and ex-wife and mother of his children, Grace P. Mevers.
