Helen Cecile Wheeler

Helen C. Wheeler, 67, of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Helen was born on December 23, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Hans and Della Schmidt. She made many friends during the 17 years she worked at Hollywood Casino before retiring. Helen was an amazing woman who loved many things, but the things she loved the most was her family and her beloved dog Buster. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as reading and puzzles. 

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Della Schmidt; two sisters, Rose Marie Floraine, and Amy Schmidt; and brother, Albert Schmidt.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Guy Wheeler, Sr.; three daughters, Carmen Hall (Tommy), Yvonne Dear (Josh), and Dominica Midence; son, Guy Wheeler, Jr. (Shelli); seven grandchildren, Natasha, Johnathan (Allison), Leigha (Frankie), Cheyenne, Trista, Landon, and Alexandria (Sammy); one sister, Cheryl Ocso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will take place in Bay Saint Louis, MS at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2024. Visitation from 10:30 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Funeral at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Rotten Bayou-St. Joseph Cemetery in Diamondhead, MS.
