Harvey Elvin Ming, Jr., 90, of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Harvey was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a US Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and on the team that sent NASA's Apollo 11 to the moon. Harvey was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Harvey worked as an electrician with the IBEW Local 130 for over 50 years.
Harvey loved fishing, hunting with his beagles, and working around the house and yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Ming Sr. and Elva Ming; and his sister, Cheryl Probst.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Georgette Ming; two sons, Todd Ming (Jolanda Hammond, fiancé) and Troy Ming; four grandchildren, Cory Ming (Shelby Serpas), Kelsey Ming Guidry (Josh), Hunter Ming, and Ty Marquar; five great-grandchildren, Emmett, Eli, Lakin, Noah, and Collins; and niece, Amy Probst Coppola.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home. Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m. Catholic prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a graveside service with military honors and interment in the Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
