Edward Jacob Young, Jr., of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Edward was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 25, 1932 to Edward and Isabelle Young. He was a proud Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps and a strong Christian man. He had a loving and tender heart with a goal in life to lead people to Christ. He was also a member of AA and loved the comradery of his many friends in the group. 

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Young; son-in-law, James Lawrence Ziegler; step-daughter, Sheri Adams; parents, Edward and Isabelle Young; and brother, Charles Young.

He is survived by his daughter, Penny Ziegler; step-daughter, Shellie Fischer (Billy); grandchildren, Arthur Ziegler, Lauren Ziegler, and Andrew Ziegler; step-grandchildren, Charlie Fischer, Michael Fischer, and Lauren Onorato (Augie); and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many dear friends who loved and cared for him, including Missy Geisel, Suzanne Gavin, Brynn Cooley, Sarah Holloway, and lifelong best friend, Jules Hillary.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses of Gentiva Hospice along with one of Edward's caregivers, Mandy.

Services will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay Saint Louis, MS. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment and Marine Honors at 1:30 p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
