Dorothy Sharon Standard Waugh

December 5, 1944 — October 13, 2024

Kiln, MS

Dorothy Sharon Standard Waugh, 79, of Kiln, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Dorothy was born on December 5, 1944 in Greenwood, MS to Red and Ruby Standard. She was a retired Medical Transcriber who spent most of her days enjoying gardening, cooking, and taking long walks around her and her husband’s 20 acres. Collecting shiny rocks, fossilized crystals, and petrified wood. She was a child of God, woman of faith, nurturer of all. She never came across an animal in need without “fostering” I mean adopting it. She was and avid believer in Bigfoot and all things unexplained. A passionate groupie of Bob Dylan and his unique singing voice. Rock and Roller at heart while blaring Lynard Skynard. And although she was feisty, she was beyond comical and had everyone loving her who met her. She will be beyond missed but, we will live on knowing her and papa are together and she’s with her parents, no longer in pain or suffering. We will always love her as she’s knocking on heaven's door.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Waugh; and parents, Red and Ruby Standard.

She is survived by her daughter, Danya Krohn; two grandchildren, Brianna Kellar (Sean) and Tristan Krohn (Sabrina); and two great-grandchildren, Levi Kellar and Reina Krohn.
