Carolyn Rita Williams was born in New Orleans, LA, November 22,1941, to Edward and Otis Long (both deceased). She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Long and her sister, Patricia Ann Fitzpatrick. She grew up in New Orleans, and moved to Waveland with her husband, Clinton Clark, Jr. in the early 1970s, where she has since lived. She raised her daughters with him there until his untimely death in 1988. She was a loving wife to Conrad Williams (deceased) during the later years of life. She was a devout Catholic and faithfully attended Mass at St. Clare Church.
Carolyn was a breast cancer survivor, an avid foodie, talented seamstress and cook, a book lover, and loved to attend barre class with her friends. Monday nights were set aside for casino time with Ricky, and she was generally pretty lucky! She loved making breakfast dates with her kids and grands as often as possible at her favorite restaurants, Grammy’s, Mockingbird Cafe, and especially Panola’s every Friday morning. She also enjoyed volunteering to make blankets for a women’s charity for several years.
The daughters and granddaughters got together with her on a yearly outing for her birthday. Her most favorite birthdays were spent celebrating Christmas tea at the Windsor Court in Downtown New Orleans.
She was a homemaker and worked for 26 years at Merchants Bank (later Whitney). Most of all, she loved her family and cared for them in every way possible. We are forever thankful to have had her as our matriarch. She was a wonderful mom to Connie Bourgeois (Ricky), Kim Moran, and Kristy Clark (Larry Hopkins).
She was known as the best Mimi to her grandchildren, Michael Bourgeois (Chancie), Taylor Bourgeios (Alexis Hoffman), Corey Daspit (Maddi), Kari Kennedy (Chaz), Natalie Daspit (Taylor Baron), and Clinton Moran (Samantha), and she was so very proud of them in every way.
Her life was made full by her great grandchildren whom she loved dearly- Jace Bourgeois, Keaston Moran, Cameron Bourgeois, Konnor Moran, and Hudson Borzik.
Carolyn taught us to be strong, generous, and to love each other. She will be profoundly missed by all those who love her. She died at 83 years old on March 13, 2025.
