Caroline Butera Murphy was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on January 25, 1962. She passed away in Diamondhead, Mississippi on May 22, 2022.
Most knew her affectionately as ‘Khaki’. She was the wife of Patrick Joseph Murphy. They shared 31 years of marriage together.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jane Hansell Butera and her sister, Anne Gartley Butera.
Caroline is survived by her father, Thomas Richard Butera, and her children Anne Grace Murphy and Charlotte Rose Murphy and her siblings Thomas Richard Butera Jr., Christina Jane Butera, Elizabeth Butera Macdonald, and Miles Butera. She graduated from Perkiomen High School in 1980 and attended Ohio Wesleyan University. She worked as a real estate broker in Aspen, Colorado as well as working tirelessly over the years in interior design and floristry. Khaki had an indomitable spirit, full of a zest for life, and she spread immense joy, laughter and love to all that surrounded her. She was an amazing mother to Annie and Charlotte and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home: 110 Necaise Avenue, Bay St. Louis, MS from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.
