Barbara Allen Carver,85, of Diamondhead, MS passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Diamondhead, MS.
Known affectionately as "Aunt Barbara" to many, she embodied the essence of generosity and joy. A devoted member of St. Rose de Lima Church, Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and connection. She turned every gathering into a celebration, mastering the art of hospitality. Her renowned crab cakes, delectable potato salad, and heartwarming gumbo delighted friends and family alike, while her famous banana bread brought smiles to anyone fortunate enough to share it.
Barbara's love for life was epitomized in her weekly Taco Tuesdays, where cherished moments were shared over large Mango Margaritas and the company of loved ones. A true social butterfly, she lived for the laughter and fellowship that filled her home, creating a sanctuary for all who entered.
Beyond her culinary talents, Barbara had a tender heart for animals, often rescuing stray cats from the back of Popeyes—her daily ritual included nurturing them and ensuring they had their share of food. The love she gave extended to her three beloved cats, Leroy, Scooter, and SweetiePie, who brought her endless joy.
Barbara’s artistic spirit shone through her delightful collection of floral paintings, reflecting her appreciation for nature's beauty. She leaves behind a legacy of love and connection—her family holds her memory dear.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold "Harry" Keit; parents, Allen & Florence "Foncie" Carver; sister, Audrey Letellier and nephew, Frank "Breezy" Letellier.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Wiley (Stephen) of Portland, OR; son, Craig Baillargeon (Tonia) of Hilliard, OH; daughter, Diane Jackson of San Pedro, CA; nephew/son, Rudy Letellier of Waveland, MS; brother, Ashton Carver (Tula) of Bay St. Louis, MS; granddaughter, Sierra Jackson of New York, NY, grandson, Paolo Wagner of Hermosa Beach, CA; grandchildren: Devin, Dylan (Amber); Samantha (Michael), Derek, Khalin (Amanda), Khalil, Khaila, Jay & 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, Corinne Carver of Baton Rouge, LA, Emma (Jay) Mason of Morgantown, West Virginia, CA; husband (1st), Gary Baillargeon of Green Valley, AZ; stepson, Richard Keit of Ojai, CA, stepdaughter, Sarah Keit of Van Nuys, CA; stepdaughter, Karen Keit of Hawaii and her fur babies, Leroy, Scooter, and SweetiePie.
Barbara leaves an indelible mark of love, compassion, and a joy for life that will forever resonate with all who knew her. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember the laughter, the love, and the countless memories she created. Her spirit will dance among us like the blooms she so cherished, a reminder of the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery in Bay St. Louis. A reception will conclude the day’s remembrance at the Holy Spirit Center.
