Albert Alphonse Asher, 89, of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, departed this life on January 16, 2025, at the Gulf Coast VA Medical Center in Biloxi.
Albert Alphonse Asher was born on November 15, 1935, at the Hancock County home of his parents, Curtis A. Asher and Luella Hose Asher. The home was in the same neighborhood where he would live his entire life.

Albert went to boot camp in Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas then served in South Carolina where he was a drill instructor. He ultimately went to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska where he was a duty sergeant. He truly enjoyed living in Alaska. While working at Coast Electric, Albert also operated a nursery and garden center. He also had his second son, Roger Dale Asher.
In 1972, Albert left Coast Electric and opened a grocery and hardware store in the same neighborhood where he was born. During this time, he became an important part of the neighborhood. He opened early in the morning and many employees at Port Bienville would come by for breakfast and lunch. Albert knew almost everyone and usually addressed people by their first name.
When Albert retired, he started selling daylilies and working yard sales with his father and mother. Many Saturday mornings they were up early to be the first ones at area yard sales.
